The Financial Accounting Analyst will join the DTC Subscription Revenue team within Disney Entertainment’s DTC Controllership. This role involves managing global subscription revenue and reporting processes for Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. The position will report to the Manager, Financial Accounting and will be responsible for monthly and quarterly close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly/Quarterly Close:

    • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Provide thorough explanations of monthly P&L to forecast and Balance Sheet variances.
  • Revenue Analysis:

    • Analyze and understand subscription revenue complexities in global regions including taxes, currency conversion, and local accounting requirements.
  • Customer and Vendor Management:

    • Complete customer and vendor setups.
    • Process customer billings and vendor payments.
    • Prepare AR aging analyses and track receipts for third-party partners.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements in models and processes.
    • Automate processes where possible to enhance efficiency.
  • Communication and Support:

    • Communicate effectively with business partners and internal teams to anticipate and address challenges.
    • Understand and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Provide support for ad hoc requests and special projects.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience:

    • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals (debits/credits, financial statements).
    • Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to analyze large data sets using pivot and lookup tables.
  • Analytical Skills:

    • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities.
    • Ability to interpret and articulate the impact of internal and external factors on business processes.
  • Personal Attributes:

    • Adaptability and flexibility for changing needs.
    • Strong prioritization skills and ability to handle conflicting priorities.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

Additional Information:

  • Compensation:

    • The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $69,946 to $93,830 per year, based on a 40-hour work week. The final base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on factors such as geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be part of the compensation package.
