As a Finance Controller for dnata Travel Group, part of one of the world’s largest air and travel services providers, you will oversee all aspects of financial accounting functions, ensuring that accounting activities are carried out in compliance with statutory requirements and company procedures. You will play a pivotal role in managing the month-end closing process, handling payroll, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, and supporting the preparation of Financial Statements, budgets, and audits.
The role demands strong leadership to manage a team and ensure timely financial reporting, compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and efficient management of outsourced services. You will also provide management with financial insights, debtors’ reports, and ensure timely invoice submission, aiming to keep Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) within the budget.
Financial Accounting Management: Oversee end-to-end financial accounting functions, including accruals, reconciliations, and controls. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Invoice Management: Ensure timely invoice submission, update invoice submission charts, maintain DSO days within budget, and oversee outsourced invoice preparation services.
Receivable Management: Conduct bi-weekly reviews of receivables and submit monthly debtors' summary reports to management. Provide risk highlights, perform receivable reconciliations, and confirm quarterly balances with clients.
Accounts Payable: Ensure the effective management of the AP process, including timely processing of invoices and reconciliation of financial transactions in the accounting system.
Month-End Closing: Manage the month-end closing process, completing pre-closing checks and handling exceptions to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial data.
Group Company Submissions: Review group company submissions for accuracy and timeliness. Analyze balance movements, resolve audit queries, and align financials with group accounting policies and IFRS.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax laws (VAT, Corporate Tax) and other regulatory requirements while maintaining proper documentation.
Cash Flow Monitoring: Monitor cash flow and report on working capital requirements.
Team Management: Lead and manage a team by assigning objectives, allocating resources, and conducting performance reviews to ensure deadlines and work plans are met.
