Performs professional architectural duties requiring licensure by the Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design, related to all phases of major capital programs for vertical construction. Manages complex, large-sized building projects and programs in the facilities capital program and other non-capital projects exceeding $20 million in value. May also involve managerial, supervisory, and administrative duties.
Salary Range:
- Minimum: $71,593.60 annually
- Midpoint: $104,020.80 annually
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Professional degree in architecture from an accredited college or university.
- Licensure: Registered Professional Architect in the State of Florida.
- Experience: Four years of post-registration experience as an Architect, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Other Requirements: Valid Florida Driver’s license.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as Project Manager for all phases of major capital projects, including design, procurement, and construction, particularly for projects exceeding $20 million in value.
- Maintain project budgets, schedules, and scope requirements, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Perform design services as the architect of record when required.
- Manage bidding and negotiation processes, contractor progress reviews, quality control, payment processing, change orders, and project close-out procedures.
- Provide regular updates on project status, including biweekly management updates and monthly reviews with User Agencies.
- Oversee project development, including initiating capital funding requests, developing scopes of work, and aligning budgets with User Agency needs.
- Assist with unscheduled or emergency projects as needed.
- Coordinate and communicate with management and other County agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
