As an Emergency Services Technician - Paramedic at Elmhurst Hospital, you will work directly with patients in the emergency department, partnering with registered nurses (RNs) to provide high-quality care. Your role will involve performing essential patient care tasks and procedures under the supervision of the RN, ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of patients in the department. This position requires strong technical skills, teamwork, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Care: Provide emergency medical services to patients, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring under the direction of RNs.
- Coordination with Nursing Staff: Work closely with RNs to ensure timely and effective care, following protocols for patient comfort and safety.
- Emergency Procedures: Perform emergency medical procedures as required, assisting in stabilizing patients and supporting the nursing team in high-stress situations.
- Patient Comfort and Safety: Ensure that all patients are treated with care and respect while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of six months of recent paramedic experience in the State of Illinois.
- Demonstrated proficiency in technical skills related to emergency services.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Licenses/Certifications Required:
- State of Illinois Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) licensure.
- Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
