Are⠀you a⠀seasoned⠀HR⠀professional⠀with a⠀passion⠀for⠀fostering⠀exceptional⠀workplace⠀cultures?⠀The People⠀and⠀Culture⠀Department⠀(P&C) at⠀The Asia⠀Foundation⠀seeks a⠀dynamic⠀Director⠀of People⠀and⠀Culture⠀(Director).⠀The⠀Director⠀will⠀report to⠀the Chief⠀People and⠀Culture⠀Officer⠀and mentor⠀the P&C⠀department,⠀spearheading⠀program⠀initiatives⠀and⠀policies⠀and⠀ensuring⠀seamless⠀compliance⠀and⠀operational⠀excellence.⠀The⠀Director⠀will be a⠀trusted⠀advisor⠀and coach⠀to⠀leadership,⠀identifying⠀underlying⠀needs and⠀developing⠀strategies⠀and⠀solutions⠀for the⠀organization-wide⠀P&C⠀program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops⠀and⠀implements⠀organization⠀strategies⠀by⠀identifying⠀and⠀researching⠀human⠀resources⠀issues and⠀developing⠀strategies⠀that⠀establish⠀department⠀accountabilities,⠀including⠀learning⠀and⠀development,⠀staffing,⠀employment⠀guidelines,⠀performance⠀management,⠀and⠀compensation.
  • Manages⠀P&C⠀operations⠀by⠀ensuring⠀alignment⠀with⠀organizational⠀goals,⠀fostering⠀a⠀collaborative⠀working⠀environment,⠀and⠀counseling⠀staff.
  • Develop⠀people⠀operations⠀financial⠀strategies⠀by⠀estimating,⠀forecasting,⠀and⠀anticipating⠀requirements.
  • Accomplishes⠀special⠀project⠀results by⠀providing⠀“hands-on”⠀approach⠀to⠀services,⠀identifying⠀and⠀clarifying⠀issues and⠀priorities.
  • Supports⠀management⠀by⠀providing⠀human⠀resources⠀advice,⠀counsel,⠀and⠀decisions.
  • Mediates⠀and⠀suggests⠀solutions⠀to⠀employee⠀disputes,⠀including⠀disciplinary⠀action⠀when⠀required.
  • Guides⠀management⠀and⠀employee⠀actions by⠀researching,⠀developing,⠀writing,⠀and⠀updating⠀policies.
  • Compiles⠀information⠀about⠀people's⠀best⠀practices⠀based on⠀market⠀data.
  • Complies⠀with⠀federal,⠀state, and⠀local⠀legal⠀requirements⠀by⠀reviewing⠀and⠀keeping⠀apprised⠀of⠀existing⠀and new⠀legislation.
  • Updates⠀job⠀knowledge⠀by⠀participating⠀in⠀conferences⠀and⠀educational⠀opportunities.
  • Oversee⠀all People⠀and⠀Culture⠀initiatives,⠀systems,⠀tactics,⠀and⠀troubleshoots⠀in areas⠀of concern⠀to⠀overcome⠀obstacles.
  • Supervise⠀the work⠀of P&C⠀staff and⠀provide⠀guidance.
  • Serve⠀as the⠀point of⠀contact⠀for⠀employee⠀relations⠀and⠀partners⠀and⠀communicate⠀with⠀regional⠀and⠀international⠀staff.
  • Monitor⠀adherence⠀to⠀internal⠀policies⠀and legal⠀standards.
  • Anticipate⠀and⠀resolve⠀litigation⠀risks and⠀audit⠀issues.
  • Ensure⠀accurate⠀People⠀dashboards⠀and⠀reports to⠀senior⠀management⠀by⠀analyzing⠀data and⠀using⠀standard⠀HR⠀metrics.
  • Other⠀duties as⠀assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s⠀degree or⠀equivalent⠀experience⠀in HR,⠀business,⠀or related⠀fields.
  • 15+⠀years of⠀progressively⠀responsible⠀HR⠀management⠀experience,⠀including⠀5 years⠀experience⠀as a⠀director.
  • Previous⠀experience⠀in⠀international⠀development,⠀non-profit,⠀or global⠀organizations.
  • Excellent⠀organizational,⠀leadership,⠀communication,⠀and⠀interpersonal⠀skills.
  • Strong⠀Interpersonal⠀and⠀collaborative⠀skills to⠀work⠀effectively⠀with⠀others,⠀seeking⠀out and⠀building⠀positive⠀working⠀relationships.
  • Exceptional⠀understanding⠀of job⠀evaluation,⠀compensation⠀analysis,⠀and⠀strategy.
  • Strong⠀knowledge⠀of data⠀analysis⠀and⠀reporting⠀skills⠀with the⠀ability to⠀identify⠀trends,⠀patterns,⠀and⠀insights⠀for⠀decision-making.
  • Strong⠀knowledge⠀of US⠀employment⠀laws and⠀regulations.
  • Proficiency⠀in HR⠀software,⠀data⠀interpretation,⠀and⠀reporting.
  • Expertise⠀in job⠀evaluation,⠀compensation⠀analysis,⠀and⠀strategic⠀planning.
