Director of Information Technology

The⠀Director⠀of⠀Information⠀Technology⠀(IT)⠀reports to⠀the Senior⠀Director⠀of⠀Operations⠀and will⠀supervise⠀one⠀part-time⠀Help Desk⠀Associate.⠀Japan⠀Society’s⠀IT⠀department⠀is front⠀facing to⠀staff and⠀therefore⠀fulfills⠀an⠀internal⠀customer⠀service⠀role⠀within the⠀organization.⠀The⠀flexibility⠀to handle⠀the⠀demands of⠀the IT⠀infrastructure⠀while⠀servicing⠀staff⠀needs –⠀at a⠀variety of⠀skillsets⠀– with a⠀positive⠀and⠀educational⠀mindset⠀are⠀essential.⠀This role⠀is central⠀to⠀ensuring⠀Japan⠀Society’s⠀day-to-day⠀IT needs⠀are met,⠀well⠀planned⠀for, and⠀supported;⠀and that⠀staff are⠀trained⠀and⠀comfortable⠀with the⠀organization’s⠀end-user⠀technology.

The⠀Director⠀of IT is⠀responsible⠀and⠀accountable⠀for⠀developing⠀and⠀implementing⠀an⠀Information⠀Technology⠀strategy⠀that will⠀support⠀and⠀leverage⠀the⠀operational⠀aspects of⠀Japan⠀Society⠀and⠀develop⠀reliable⠀systems.⠀They will⠀be an⠀experienced⠀technical⠀professional⠀and⠀responsible⠀for⠀overseeing⠀and⠀implementing⠀all facets⠀of IT⠀including,⠀but not⠀limited⠀to,⠀network⠀operations,⠀security,⠀support,⠀and⠀project⠀management.⠀Candidates⠀will be⠀responsible⠀for the⠀successful⠀execution⠀of⠀projects,⠀timely and⠀efficient⠀problem⠀solving,⠀ensuring⠀updated⠀security⠀standards⠀are⠀adhered⠀to,⠀meeting⠀the⠀day-to-day⠀IT needs⠀of the⠀organization⠀and⠀addressing⠀new⠀challenges⠀as they⠀arise.

Salary

$100,000⠀-⠀$125,000,⠀depending⠀on⠀experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee⠀all⠀technology⠀operations,⠀including⠀network⠀security⠀and⠀evaluate⠀them⠀according⠀to⠀established⠀goals.
• Assess⠀and⠀establish⠀IT⠀policies⠀and⠀systems to⠀support⠀the⠀implementation⠀of⠀strategies⠀set by⠀upper⠀management⠀to support⠀efficient⠀operations⠀and⠀effective⠀business⠀practices.
• Work⠀regularly⠀with⠀senior⠀management,⠀staff, and⠀vendors to⠀apply the⠀most⠀relevant⠀cost-effective⠀technology⠀to⠀accomplish⠀the vision⠀and⠀mission of⠀Japan⠀Society.
• Analyze⠀the⠀business⠀requirements⠀of all⠀departments⠀to⠀determine⠀their⠀technological⠀needs.
• Facilitate⠀communication⠀between⠀management,⠀staff, and⠀technology⠀resources⠀used by⠀Japan⠀Society to⠀ensure an⠀effective⠀approach⠀to⠀planning,⠀budgeting⠀and⠀implementing⠀technology⠀solutions.
• Purchase⠀efficient⠀and⠀cost-effective⠀technological⠀equipment⠀and⠀software.
• Inspect⠀the use of⠀technological⠀equipment⠀and⠀software⠀to ensure⠀functionality,⠀efficiency,⠀and⠀security⠀compliance.
• Identify⠀the need⠀for⠀upgrades,⠀configurations⠀or new⠀systems.⠀Report and⠀make⠀recommendations⠀to upper⠀management.
• Supervise⠀part-time⠀Help Desk⠀Associate⠀and other⠀professionals/consultants⠀engaged⠀for⠀project⠀work to⠀provide⠀guidance.
• Control⠀budget and⠀report on⠀expenditure
• Assist⠀in⠀building⠀relationships⠀with⠀vendors⠀and⠀creating⠀cost-efficient⠀contracts.
• IT⠀Security⠀assessment,⠀reviews⠀and⠀management.
