King County Metro Transit is seeking a Director of Employee Services, a pivotal role to lead the Human Resources, Labor Relations, Organizational Health and Development, and Recruiting teams. With over 6,000 employees and 120 team members in the division, this position will ensure that Metro can meet key challenges, including Equity, Race and Social Justice, Climate Change, and Regional Mobility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the division's strategic and operational needs, including workforce management and labor relations.
  • Strengthen workplace culture and increase access to learning, development, and diversity initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the division budget, allocate resources, and set short- and long-term goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, equity, and innovation.

  • Strong leadership in large, unionized organizations.
  • Expertise in organizational design and development.
  • Proven track record of managing complex initiatives and strategic planning.
