With a focus on creating lasting relationships, our Designers guide customers through the design process, whether furnishing an entire room or adding an accent piece. Utilizing cutting-edge technology and design tools, Designers offer in-store, in-home, and virtual consultations to bring customers' home visions to life.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction & Sales: Drive sales and create differentiated customer experiences by offering design consultations in-store, in-home, or virtually.
- Design Creation: Use design tools to create mood boards, 2D and 3D floor plans, product lists, and customer presentations.
- Timely Project Delivery: Lead projects from start to finish, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines.
- Brand Knowledge: Stay updated on Crate and Barrel’s aesthetics, merchandising strategy, and industry trends to inform customer consultations.
- Sales & Service Goals: Meet individual sales, KPI, and service targets while demonstrating excellent customer service and selling skills on the sales floor.
- Customer Relationship Building: Cultivate new customer relationships and maintain long-lasting connections through networking and clienteling.
- Team Collaboration & Training: Support store training initiatives and educate others on design services and offerings.
- Product Knowledge: Stay informed on product details, including characteristics and care instructions, and communicate competitive advantages.
Qualifications:
- Design Knowledge: Understanding of basic design functions such as spatial planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior design styles.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to translate the Crate and Barrel brand vision into customer needs.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with design tools (2D and 3D), Google Suite, video conferencing, and floor planning.
- Trend Awareness: Ability to stay up-to-date on current design trends and translate them into customer solutions.
- Sales & Service Experience: Proven ability to build lasting relationships with customers and achieve sales goals.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience: 6+ months in competitive sales or interior design services.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
- Availability:
- Full-Time: Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Part-Time: Availability to work two or more weekend days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and at least one weekday or evening.
