The Biostatistician will be involved in data management, statistical analysis, and generating interim reports for pediatric cancer clinical trials, specifically supporting the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Disease Unit conducted by the Children’s Oncology Group (COG). The role requires working independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with peers and COG Lead statisticians across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management:

    • Manage data file systems from clinical trials and biospecimen banks.
    • Perform data quality checks and develop programs for patient cohort selection from COG clinical trials.
    • Handle de-identified patient data for biospecimen selection and shipping.
  • Statistical Analysis:

    • Conduct statistical analyses, including survival analysis, Cox regression analysis, logistic regression, and tests of association.
    • Interpret results and prepare summary reports for the trial committee.
    • Draft semi-annual study progress reports and confidential data safety monitoring committee reports.
  • Programming and Reporting:

    • Perform programming tasks and statistical analysis to ensure high-quality work and meet project deadlines.
    • Conduct regular checks on trial data, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues with the Research Coordinator.
  • Collaboration and Dissemination:

    • Collaborate with study committees and statisticians on abstracts, presentations, and manuscript submissions.
    • Prepare datasets for regulatory submissions to the FDA, EMA, and NIH.
  • Additional Duties:

    • Complete other assigned duties as required.

Expected Salary: $68,000 - $78,000 annually; commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field; or a bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field.
  2. Skills in data management, programming, and statistical methods.
  3. Proficiency in programming languages such as SAS, R, SPSS, Stata, and Excel.
  4. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently with limited oversight.
  5. Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.
