As a Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you will serve as a hybrid cloud subject matter expert, working with Google’s technical sales teams to help prospective and existing customers understand the value of Google Cloud. You will use your technical expertise to design creative cloud solutions, assist customers in overcoming technical challenges, and deliver presentations to help them make the most of Google Cloud services.
You will collaborate with Google’s State Local and Education (SLED) Inside Sales team to introduce Google Public Sector solutions, ensuring customers understand how Google Cloud can support their digital transformation efforts. Responsibilities:
- Business Opportunity Qualification: Collaborate with the team to identify customer needs and resolve technical blockers.
- Technology Advocacy: Share expertise in infrastructure modernization, bid responses, product briefings, and proof-of-concept work.
- Product Demonstrations: Work directly with Google Cloud products to prototype and demonstrate integrations in customer environments.
- Enterprise Architecture: Provide guidance on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, and best practices to optimize the effectiveness of Google Cloud.
- Travel: Travel to customer sites, conferences, and events as needed to support customer relationships and technical implementations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 4 years of experience with cloud-native architecture in customer-facing or support roles.
- Technical Skills: Experience with cloud engineering, virtualization, containerization platforms, and on-premise engineering.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience engaging with technical stakeholders and presenting to executive leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Public Sector Experience: Experience with State, Local, and Public Sector clients, including state, county, and local agencies.
- Cloud Expertise: Experience developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, PaaS, and container orchestration systems.
- Cloud Migration: Experience in migrating applications and services to cloud platforms.
- Security Knowledge: Familiarity with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and pen testing.
- Emerging Technologies: Ability to learn and work with new technologies and solutions in the Google Cloud/IT space.
