As a⠀Criminal⠀Records⠀Specialist⠀(CRS), you⠀will⠀maintain⠀and⠀support⠀criminal⠀history⠀record⠀information⠀provided⠀by law⠀enforcement⠀agencies⠀and courts⠀throughout⠀the state⠀under⠀minimal⠀supervision.⠀You will⠀ensure⠀accurate⠀entry,⠀update⠀information,⠀and⠀disseminate⠀criminal⠀history⠀record⠀information⠀(CHRI)⠀upon⠀request to⠀law⠀enforcement,⠀criminal⠀justice⠀agencies,⠀public and⠀private⠀sector⠀employers,⠀and the⠀general⠀public.

About⠀the⠀Division:
The⠀Criminal⠀Records⠀Division⠀(CRD) is⠀comprised⠀of four⠀sections:⠀Collision⠀Records,⠀ACCESS,⠀Identification⠀and⠀Background⠀Check⠀Section,⠀and⠀Criminal⠀History⠀Records⠀Section.⠀It⠀provides⠀services⠀for both⠀criminal⠀justice⠀and⠀non-criminal⠀justice⠀purposes⠀and is⠀also⠀responsible⠀for⠀maintaining⠀the⠀statewide⠀repository⠀for⠀fingerprint-based⠀criminal⠀history⠀record⠀information.

Duties

Our new teammate will be able to:

  • Liaise for⠀record⠀acquisition⠀and⠀release of⠀information⠀with other⠀criminal⠀justice⠀agencies,⠀federal⠀and local⠀agencies,⠀attorneys,⠀other⠀state⠀agencies,⠀businesses,⠀organizations,⠀and the⠀general⠀public.
  • Review⠀and verify⠀accuracy⠀of work⠀performed⠀in the⠀unit⠀relating⠀to⠀background⠀checks and⠀dissemination⠀of⠀criminal⠀history⠀record⠀information.
  • Assist⠀law⠀enforcement⠀agencies,⠀governmental⠀entities,⠀and public⠀with⠀criminal⠀history⠀related⠀issues.
  • Utilize,⠀update,⠀and⠀maintain⠀databases⠀and⠀programs⠀used for⠀processing⠀of⠀criminal⠀history.
  • Maintain⠀current⠀knowledge⠀of public⠀disclosure⠀and⠀dissemination⠀policies.
  • Properly⠀prepare⠀documents⠀for⠀imaging⠀and⠀archiving.
  • Monthly⠀entry of⠀statistical⠀reports.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have⠀a High⠀School⠀Diploma or⠀GED⠀equivalent.
  • Must⠀possess a⠀valid,⠀unrestricted⠀Washington⠀State⠀Driver's⠀License or⠀be able to⠀obtain one⠀within 30⠀days of⠀employment.
  • Ability⠀to process⠀complex⠀data with⠀a high⠀degree of⠀accuracy.
  • Proficient⠀computer/typing⠀skills to⠀include⠀experience⠀in 10-key⠀typing.
  • Ability⠀to⠀maintain⠀confidentiality⠀in the⠀performance⠀of this⠀role.
  • Must⠀meet⠀productivity⠀and⠀accuracy⠀standards,⠀deadlines,⠀and work⠀schedules.
  • Maintain⠀excellent⠀customer⠀service⠀relations⠀with those⠀requiring⠀the⠀release of⠀sensitive⠀information.
