Crew Member

As a Crew Member, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks essential to landscaping and lawn care. These tasks include sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, and raking. You will contribute to the creation and maintenance of beautiful, healthy outdoor spaces by following planned landscaping designs and ensuring that all work is done efficiently and safely.

Expectations/Responsibilities:

• Lawn Care:

  • Mulch, aerate, weed, grub, and remove thatch from lawns.
  • Trim and edge around flower beds, walkways, and walls to maintain neat and tidy landscapes.

• Fertilization & Pest Control:

  • Mix and apply fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides to grass, shrubs, and trees using hand or automatic sprayers and spreaders.

• Mowing & Edging:

  • Operate power mowers and edgers to maintain lawns.

• Planting:

  • Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs.
  • Apply mulch to protect plants and enhance the landscape using gardening tools.

• Design Implementation:

  • Follow landscaping designs as directed by the Crew Leader and General Manager to ensure all work aligns with the project plan.

• General Maintenance:

  • Gather and remove litter from the worksite.
  • Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using shears, pruners, or chainsaws.

• Other Duties:

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and ensure the job is completed to the highest standards.

Requirements:

• Qualifications/Competencies:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some experience in landscaping is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be able to handle the physical demands of the job, including working in various weather conditions, heavy lifting, and extensive walking.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required.

• Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in severe weather conditions, both hot and cold, and be willing to work and travel in inclement weather.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand and perform manual labor for 50-70% of the time.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels.
