Reporting⠀to the⠀Senior⠀Associate⠀Director⠀of⠀Development⠀Communications,⠀you’ll⠀be the⠀primary⠀copyeditor⠀for a⠀super⠀talented⠀and⠀thoughtful⠀group of⠀writers⠀churning⠀out a⠀hefty⠀volume of⠀compelling⠀pieces⠀that⠀inspire⠀support⠀for Lucile⠀Packard⠀Children’s⠀Hospital⠀Stanford⠀and the⠀maternal⠀and⠀pediatric⠀research⠀programs⠀at the⠀Stanford⠀School of⠀Medicine.

You’ll⠀receive⠀requests⠀for⠀projects⠀big and⠀small and⠀treat⠀every⠀single one⠀like⠀it’s the⠀most⠀important⠀piece⠀you’ve⠀ever⠀read.

In⠀addition⠀to⠀copyediting⠀(which⠀will⠀comprise⠀about 80%⠀of your⠀time),⠀you’ll⠀be called⠀upon to⠀write⠀cases for⠀support⠀for major⠀gift⠀fundraising⠀priorities⠀at the⠀hospital⠀and School⠀of⠀Medicine⠀and⠀brainstorm⠀catchy⠀headlines,⠀subheads,⠀and⠀captions⠀to hook⠀readers⠀and compel⠀them to⠀act.

Compensation⠀Range is⠀$78,000 -⠀$85,000⠀annually.

YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR…

• Deep⠀copyediting,⠀including⠀proofreading⠀(spelling,⠀punctuation,⠀grammar,⠀consistency⠀in style),⠀full copy⠀editing⠀(sentence⠀construction,⠀word and⠀phrase⠀choice,⠀resolving⠀ambiguity,⠀structure⠀and logic,⠀relevance⠀and⠀clarity,⠀terminology,⠀and⠀referencing),⠀rewriting⠀to correct⠀or improve⠀language⠀or style,⠀as well as⠀restructuring⠀for⠀logical⠀flow.⠀You’ll⠀ensure⠀that every⠀piece that⠀crosses⠀your desk⠀leaves⠀better⠀than when⠀it⠀arrived.

  Testing⠀every link⠀in the⠀pieces you⠀review to⠀ensure⠀they⠀direct the⠀reader to⠀the⠀intended⠀locations.
