Key Responsibilities:
- Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication protocols with the project team, including the owner, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Code and Systems Application: Proactively apply knowledge of building codes and various systems (e.g., architectural, civil, structural) throughout the project lifecycle.
- RFI and Submittal Management: Assist with reviewing and handling Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals.
- Design Communication: Work closely with design teams to ensure a clear understanding of design intent.
- Change Management: Monitor and report on project changes initiated by the owner or contractor that may impact the scope of services.
- Submittal Review: Ensure shop drawings and product data conform to project contract documents and design intent while upholding HKS standards and quality.
- Site Visits and Reports: Conduct periodic site visits, inspections, and prepare detailed field reports.
- Cost Evaluation and Change Orders: Assess cost impacts, manage change orders, and address payment applications as per contractual requirements.
- Consensus Building: Facilitate discussions among project team members to align on goals and manage project agreements and additional services.
- Team Collaboration: Contribute to team meetings to address technical and coordination issues across disciplines.
- Client Relations and Business Development: Support business growth by identifying new opportunities, marketing to current clients for repeat business, and assisting with proposals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Accredited degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Experience: Typically, 4+ years in a relevant role with project experience.
- Licensing: Architectural Registration is preferred, but not required.
- Sustainability: Sustainable design accreditation is desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in architectural software like Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling tools.
- Experience with project management software such as Newforma and PDF-editing tools.
- Strong knowledge of the MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of sustainability and integrated design principles.
- Familiarity with the Owner-Architect Agreement, Owner-Contractor Agreement, and Architect-Consultant Agreements.
