The Mission Investment Fund (MIF) is a financial ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), providing loans for capital projects for ELCA congregations, synods, and ministries. The ELCA Federal Credit Union (FCU) offers financial products and services within the ELCA community. Both ministries work with Christian values such as integrity, customer focus, inclusion, and stewardship to serve the church and its affiliated organizations.

The Communications Specialist will develop and deliver strategic communications to support business development and sales for MIF and ELCA FCU, as well as manage internal communications across the organization. This includes creating marketing collateral, internal communications materials, and facilitating event participation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketing and Communications Support: Create tailored marketing materials (e.g., collateral, templates, presentations, white papers) to assist the Sales and Business Development teams in engaging prospective customers for MIF and ELCA FCU.
  • Internal Communications: Write and disseminate internal communications, develop and maintain communication channels, and recommend ways to improve internal messaging.
  • Event Coordination: Help plan the organization’s participation in local, regional, and national events, ensuring proper brand representation.
  • Design Collaboration: Work with internal and external partners to create visual content like infographics and presentations.
  • Collateral Management: Develop and manage an inventory of marketing materials, business stationery, and promotional items.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Strong communication, writing, and marketing skills. Ability to collaborate across teams and produce clear, effective messages.
  • Experience: Familiarity with marketing collateral production and internal communications strategies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods and move throughout the building. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
