The University of Miami is seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Chief Marketing, Communications, and Digital Officer (CMCDO) to lead and elevate the University's mission and global reach. Reporting to the Executive Vice President for University Operations and External Affairs, the CMCDO will oversee marketing and communication strategies for the University, including UHealth and the Miller School of Medicine. This executive will create and implement strategies to enhance the University’s brand, foster engagement, and ensure consistency across all communication channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brand Strategy:

    • Develop a distinctive brand positioning and story for the University of Miami that stands out locally and globally.
    • Implement effective strategies to build, promote, and protect the University’s brand across diverse target audiences.
    • Create a consumer engagement strategy to build lasting relationships with key constituents, increasing loyalty and advocacy.
  • Marketing and Communications:

    • Oversee marketing, branding, and advertising initiatives, ensuring alignment with the University’s objectives.
    • Develop metrics to demonstrate the return on investment (ROI) of marketing efforts.
    • Lead innovative digital strategies, enhancing the University’s social media presence and digital engagement.
    • Execute crisis management and media relations, and oversee all organizational messaging.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Lead communication strategies to inform and educate both internal and external stakeholders about the University’s activities and accomplishments.
    • Refine core messaging for consistency across all communications.
    • Establish high-level media contacts with general and healthcare outlets.
  • Leadership and Team Development:

    • Build and mentor a high-quality marketing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
    • Develop pathways for professional growth and future leadership within the department.
  • Compliance and Governance:

    • Ensure adherence to University policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, and internal control oversight.
