The Supply Chain Associate is responsible for receiving, distributing, storing, and inventorying supplies used in direct patient care. This position supports the hospital’s supply chain operations by maintaining an organized and accurate inventory, ensuring that medical supplies are readily available to departments in need.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in Material Management or a related field.
  • Proficiency with computerized inventory control systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with personnel in other departments.
  • Physical ability to lift light to moderate weights, push/pull carts, and stand/walk for extended periods.

Job Duties:

  1. Service Pride Values: Demonstrate the WSMC Service Pride Values of Respect, Honesty, Participation, and Unity to provide quality service to patients and customers.

  2. Supply Management:

    • Monitor supply levels in departments using par level lists or handheld computers.
    • Pull and replenish supplies in an orderly fashion, ensuring cleanliness, integrity, and checking expiration dates.
    • Suggest and monitor supply level/location changes based on department needs.
    • Work with end-users and co-workers to maintain adequate supplies in patient care units.
  3. Inventory Management:

    • Data processing entries for the MMIS system to ensure timely and accurate information.
    • Replenish, rotate, and organize stock, prioritizing items with the nearest expiration dates.
    • Face and group items for easier identification and access.
  4. Communication & Support:

    • Use telephone or pager to respond to hospital supply needs.
    • Assist with inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
  5. Additional Duties:

    • May be required to assist on the Receiving Dock and/or Mailroom as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.
