Join a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional service while upholding the Rush mission, vision, and values. As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth meal service operations and accurate financial transactions, all while adhering to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile the cash register bank at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Operate the cash register during meal services, process transactions, and provide receipts to customers.
• Manage cash, credit card, Freedom Pay transactions, and meal tickets per department protocol.
• Program registers with daily menu items and prices.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Restock food and supplies as needed.
• Adhere to all regulatory standards and departmental policies.
• Assist in training new team members and orient dietetic interns as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as directed by supervisors.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of cashier experience in a high-volume food service setting.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Illinois Department of Public Health and City of Chicago Sanitation Certification (must be obtained within six months of hire).
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a focus on customer service.

Physical Demands

• Ability to push or pull carts weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Capacity to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Flexibility to stoop, kneel, reach, and operate kitchen utensils and cash register keyboards.
• Effective communication using various audio-technology devices.
• Split time between sitting (50%) and standing or walking (50%).
