The role of Career Development Specialist at BCG (Boston Consulting Group) is pivotal for supporting the Career Development (CD) experience for Consulting Team (CT) staff and stakeholders. Here’s a breakdown of the key aspects of this position:

Responsibilities

  • CDC Meeting Preparation and Management:

    • Communicate with CT and CD Advisors to ensure tasks are completed in Workday.
    • Manage logistics for meetings, including space and technology setup.
    • Capture post-meeting outcomes in Workday.
  • Feedback Management:

    • Collaborate with Staffing and Talent teams for accurate reviews in Workday.
    • Coordinate timing for participants transitioning to traditional evaluations.
    • Use Workday reporting for follow-ups on outstanding reviews.
  • Supporting CD Leadership:

    • Respond to CD Advisor questions regarding Workday.
    • Prepare materials for meetings and check-ins on timely topics.
  • Communication with CT Staff:

    • Answer questions on Workday.
    • Communicate CD Advisor assignments to new staff.
    • Assist in onboarding sessions and training.
  • Ongoing Support:

    • Help execute local strategic initiatives.
    • Prepare for year-end staff bonus processes.
    • Engage with other CD colleagues across North America.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Essential Skills:
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
    • Initiative in problem-solving and task management.
  • Experience:
    • BA/BS degree with 3+ years of experience in HR, talent, staffing, or operations.
    • Prior experience at BCG or in professional services is highly preferred.
    • Experience in a People-related role is advantageous.

Work Environment

  • Location: The role is based in New York or Brooklyn with a hybrid work model requiring 3 to 5 days in the office per week.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with various teams within BCG, including the People team and CD leadership, while also networking with peers across North America.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: Base salary ranges from $81,000 to $99,000, depending on experience, with potential bonuses and retirement contributions.
