Role Overview: The Business Development Support Specialist (BDSS) plays a critical role in supporting the sales efforts of our Centralized Business Development Officers (BDOs) by driving net new assets to Schwab. This role helps Managing Directors and BDOs grow Schwab’s market share through sophisticated sales discovery and development processes. The BDSS delivers a variety of support elements to ensure the success of BDOs in their sales efforts and provides exceptional client experiences during the deal development process and advisor onboarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Support:

    • Provide comprehensive support to the Business Development Sales team, including preparing proposals, managing CRM entries, and tracking sales activities.
    • Educate prospects, organize, and execute processes related to onboarding complex advisor relationships.
    • Support the preparation of specific documents tailored to each advisor's needs.
  • Client Onboarding:

    • Coordinate client onboarding processes, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
    • Provide partnership and act as a liaison between sales, compliance, pricing/billing, operations, and other internal partners to streamline workflow and enhance the onboarding process.
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Building:

    • Strategize with the Business Development Sales team to identify and implement methods to encourage clients to fund their accounts.
    • Engage in personalized follow-ups, targeted communications, and value proposition enhancements to foster strong client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
    • Valid and active FINRA Series 7 and 63 Licenses.
    • 3+ years of financial services experience required; experience with Schwab Advisor Services is highly preferred.
    • Experience in client service or sales support is required.
  • Skills & Attributes:

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Excellent client service skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve problems proactively.
    • Strong follow-up skills in managing client communications and internal/external workflows.
    • Knowledge of Schwab products, services, and the brokerage industry, including operations and trading.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications, including OneNote, Excel, and PowerPoint.
