Amazon is hiring a Business Development Manager (BDM) for their newly created team focused on recruiting sustainable selling partners. This role involves managing and developing a pipeline of both high-value and transactional accounts, with a focus on sustainable businesses.
Core Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Growth: Identify, qualify, acquire, and grow sustainable businesses on Amazon.
- Data Analysis: Analyze customer data to make recommendations and maximize territory potential.
- Metrics Tracking: Implement and track metrics to measure success and uncover opportunities.
- Partnership Management: Handle complex partnerships, contract negotiations, and liaise with the legal team.
- Sales Execution: Prospect and close business to meet quarterly quota targets for both quantity and quality of sellers.
- CRM Utilization: Use Salesforce.com to track account information, sales progress, and prioritize tasks.
- Industry Knowledge: Understand the e-commerce industry, competitive environment, and product offerings.
- Project Management: Manage additional projects such as mentorship, competitive analysis, and sales analysis.
- Business Reviews: Prepare and deliver business reviews on progress and territory health.
- Strategic Management: Manage numerous opportunities concurrently and strategically.
- Value Proposition: Create and present compelling value propositions around Amazon's Selling products.
- Merchant Engagement: Engage with merchants to understand their needs and fit with Amazon’s services.
- Internal Collaboration: Assist internal partners to drive change and close business.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years in enterprise-class sales, preferably in eCommerce, retail technology, SaaS, or software.
- Sales Skills: Extensive experience in cold calling, prospecting, and qualifying companies.
- Global Sales Experience: Experience working within a global sales organization.
- Sales Success: Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets with a consultative, solutions-focused approach.
- Executive Relationships: Experience managing executive-level relationships.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Sales Funnel Management: Ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize sales funnel and use data for decision-making.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Education: BA/BS degree.
