The Business Development Manager at Chubb focuses on telephonic sales for Personal Risk Services within a defined geographic territory. Reporting to the Personal Lines Senior Vice President, this role supports Chubb’s One Chubb growth strategy across multiple product lines and business segments, including Agribusiness, Accident & Health, and Middle Market Commercial.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales Strategy Execution:

    • Develop and implement telephonic sales strategies aimed at new business production, agency appointments, revenue growth, and market share capture.
    • Target Personal Risk Services with flexibility to promote other Chubb segments and products as appropriate.
    • Consistently meet or exceed production goals, demonstrating strong sales and service metrics (e.g., quotes, issued policies, profitability).
  2. Relationship Building and Management:

    • Forge and manage key relationships with agents, working collaboratively with Chubb’s underwriting and field teams.
    • Execute agency management strategies that align with Chubb’s goals, fostering long-term partnerships and identifying new distribution channels.
    • Share insights into market conditions and customer needs within the assigned territory, informing strategic decisions.
  3. Market Analysis and New Business Development:

    • Conduct territory analysis, pre-qualification, and pipelining of new customers to boost market presence.
    • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the local marketplace and Chubb’s unique capabilities to deliver tailored solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a high-performance sales role, with a proven record of achieving sales targets.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; designations like CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) and CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) are advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and influence abilities. Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, with a polished presentation style.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote) and familiarity with personal risk services underwriting.
  • Mindset: Entrepreneurial and creative approach to problem-solving and opportunity identification.
