The Audit Project Manager plays a critical role in translating the future vision of Aon’s Internal Audit (IA) department into practice. The role is responsible for managing and coordinating global programs and projects that align with the department’s vision and goals, and for evaluating the adequacy of control environments within Aon’s business units, particularly in the Americas and ABS regions.

 Day Will Look Like:

  • Global Project Management:
    Act as a subject matter expert on strategic initiatives, managing project plans that balance competing priorities, monitoring progress, and communicating updates to leadership.

  • Strategic Initiative Execution:
    Define business cases, create delivery plans, and execute projects in a timely manner, working cross-functionally to achieve departmental goals.

  • Audit Participation:
    Lead and participate in audits to evaluate the adequacy of controls in Aon business units and key business processes.

  • Collaboration & Influence:
    Seek and socialize insights from internal and external sources, including PPO, Data Analytics, senior leadership, and assurance practitioners to identify innovative solutions and drive the department’s priorities forward.

  • Thought Leadership:
    Provide expertise and share best practices both within the department and with external stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support the implementation of new ideas.

  • Data Analysis & Strategy:
    Analyze data to develop strategies that propel initiatives forward, ensuring they meet business needs and regulatory standards.

Skills and Experience that Will Lead to Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (professional certifications are a plus).
  • 4+ years of audit experience in a large multinational, professional services, or public accounting firm.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, initiative, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interface with management and colleagues at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage global teams, respecting diverse cultures and identities.
  • Strong understanding of audit, risk, and compliance principles, with analytical and technical expertise.
  • Proficiency in audit software, data sets, and presentation tools.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of agile auditing concepts.
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization techniques.
