Skydeck Capital, located in Chicago, is a private investment firm managing capital for the Polsky family. With a proprietary capital base, Skydeck Capital operates without predefined time constraints or investment benchmarks, allowing a focus on long-term value creation and impact. The firm’s real estate team invests in office, multifamily, mixed-use, industrial properties, and ground-up developments.

General Description:

The Associate position offers an in-office opportunity based in downtown Chicago and plays a critical role in supporting asset management for the firm’s multifamily real estate portfolio. This role provides an exciting opportunity to gain exposure across multiple real estate asset classes and directly influence asset performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and track the financial performance of multifamily properties, identifying trends and recommending areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with joint venture partners to ensure alignment and successful execution of business plans.
• Act as the asset manager for Skydeck-owned multifamily properties, driving profitability and addressing challenges.
• Develop and maintain financial models, investment reports, budgets, leasing initiatives, and capital expenditure projections.
• Oversee multifamily property operations, including management, leasing, and construction activities.
• Conduct regular property visits to gather feedback from ownership, tenants, and other users.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of capital events, due diligence processes, and other ad-hoc analyses as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in real estate or a related field.
• Experience with multifamily properties is essential.
• Strong understanding of real estate fundamentals and the impact of market conditions on asset values.
