ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DEVICE CAD TECHNICIAN

The Associate IPS Designer will focus on developing skills required for the IPS Designer I role, with a goal of advancement to IPS Designer I within a reasonable timeframe. This position involves creating Individual Patient Solutions (IPS) products, such as guides, implants, splints, and models, using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The role requires collaboration with internal team members and surgeons to ensure that technical requirements are met, and a strong understanding of medical procedures and anatomy is necessary.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Learning and Development:

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of the complete product range for Individual Patient Solutions.
  • Learn to identify and understand the technical requirements of customers in collaboration with team members.
  • Demonstrate the ability to design IPS products following technical, regulatory, and internal guidelines.
  • Abide by all relevant regulatory and internal guidelines for product design and manufacturing.
  • Create and maintain files specific to each patient case.

• Design and Testing:

  • Use CAD software to create 3D models of IPS products.
  • Design and execute tests to verify and validate product performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Ensure that designs clearly depict parts and their technical features to meet manufacturing goals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Education:
  • Associate's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Bioengineering, Biomedical) or a comparable technical/medical field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience:
  • Prior experience with 3D modeling software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
