Position Overview:
The Data Conversion Specialist will be involved in onboarding new clients and supporting data conversion projects at a high technical level. This role involves understanding the client’s data requirements, performing analysis, mapping data for system uploads, and ensuring data accuracy. The ideal candidate will be skilled in financial data analysis, familiar with various performance measurement methodologies, and able to coordinate across teams to improve service quality.
Major Duties:
- Client Onboarding:
- Manage the onboarding of new clients, ensuring the correct data conversion process is followed.
- Data Conversion Support:
- Participate in the data conversion workstream, ensuring that the data conversion process is completed efficiently and accurately.
- Support problem-solving and technical solutioning around the data conversion process.
- Data Discovery:
- Work with clients to understand data sources and usage in order to shape the configuration of data within the FOS platform.
- Data Analysis and Mapping:
- Analyze financial statements and supporting documents for portfolio data validation.
- Map source data to prepare it for upload to the FOS system.
- Load and reconcile data to ensure its accuracy within the system.
- Testing and Methodology Development:
- Assist with testing new business processes and products.
- Contribute to the development of data conversion process standards, procedures, and templates.
- Escalation Management:
- Identify and communicate any escalations to management promptly.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Basic understanding of institutional investment industry, markets, and investment instruments.
- Familiarity with investment operational processes, including transactional impacts, cash movements, and accruals.
- Basic understanding of accounting/reporting methods like IBOR, ABOR, and TrueNAV.
- Experience working with large financial datasets and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with performance return calculation methods and IRRs.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and lead teams, peers, and stakeholders.
- Strong coordination skills across teams to improve service quality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to adapt to change and apply operational business practices to improve efficiency.
