The Associate Art Director is responsible for overseeing the visual direction of projects with moderate complexity. This role involves conceptualizing, developing, and executing visual solutions that communicate the intended message clearly and effectively. Working under the guidance of Creative leadership, the Associate Art Director ensures that all design elements adhere to the client’s brand guidelines while exploring creative concepts in a strategic manner. This individual will handle multiple projects concurrently and may provide leadership to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Direction: Develop two-dimensional concepts and visual strategies that align with project objectives and brand standards under the guidance of Creative leadership.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide direction to junior designers and team members, ensuring that all visual elements meet high-quality standards and align with the overall vision of the project.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with copywriters, photographers, designers, and other creatives to integrate visual and written content effectively, ensuring cohesive storytelling across different media platforms.
  • Approval and Review: Review and approve final designs and layouts, ensuring they meet client expectations and adhere to current industry trends, brand standards, and best practices.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients, presenting design concepts and addressing feedback and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work proactively with production, fabrication, and account direction teams to ensure smooth project execution and delivery.
  • Workload Management: Be mindful of project scope, timelines, and forecast workload to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field preferred, though relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in the event industry.
