The⠀Maurice A.⠀Deane⠀School of⠀Law at⠀Hofstra⠀University⠀is pleased⠀to invite⠀applications⠀for an⠀Assistant⠀or⠀Associate⠀Professor⠀of⠀Academic⠀Support⠀position.⠀This is a⠀full-time⠀faculty⠀position⠀with a⠀renewable⠀contract⠀potentially⠀leading to⠀a⠀long-term⠀renewable⠀contract,⠀or an⠀initial⠀long-term⠀contract⠀should the⠀applicant’s⠀qualifications⠀merit⠀such.⠀Professors⠀of⠀Academic⠀Support at⠀Hofstra⠀serve on⠀faculty⠀committees⠀and vote⠀in faculty⠀meetings.

The⠀Academic⠀Success⠀Program⠀assists JD⠀and LLM⠀students⠀in the⠀development⠀of the⠀critical⠀skills⠀necessary⠀to succeed⠀in law⠀school, on⠀the Bar⠀Exam, and⠀in⠀practice.⠀The⠀successful⠀candidate⠀will⠀report to⠀the⠀Director⠀of⠀Academic⠀Support⠀and will⠀implement⠀all⠀aspects of⠀the Law⠀School’s⠀Academic⠀Success⠀Program,⠀including:⠀teaching⠀first-year⠀and⠀upper-level⠀classes⠀and⠀workshops⠀for⠀students;⠀providing⠀individual⠀writing⠀assistance⠀and⠀counseling;⠀identifying⠀and⠀assisting⠀students⠀who need⠀additional⠀academic⠀support;⠀coordinating⠀bar exam⠀preparation⠀programs⠀and⠀events;⠀developing⠀and⠀implementing⠀new⠀services⠀to enhance⠀students’⠀academic⠀performance;⠀compiling⠀and⠀presenting⠀bar exam⠀data and⠀maintaining⠀departmental⠀database;⠀and⠀special⠀projects⠀as⠀requested⠀by the⠀Director⠀of⠀Academic⠀Support.⠀Some⠀evening⠀hours are⠀part of⠀this⠀position.
