Assistant Manager

• Provides⠀professional⠀advice on⠀the⠀selection,⠀ordering,⠀planting,⠀and⠀maintenance⠀of trees,⠀shrubs,⠀ground⠀covers,⠀and⠀grasses in⠀the hotel⠀property.
• Responsible⠀for⠀landscape⠀maintenance,⠀restoration,⠀and design⠀through⠀contractors.
• Recommend⠀contractor⠀follows⠀and ensure⠀soil⠀composition,⠀best⠀irrigation⠀methods,⠀pest⠀control⠀techniques,⠀and other⠀factors⠀that⠀affect⠀plant⠀growth.
• Guide⠀and manage⠀contractors⠀in nursery⠀operations⠀and in the⠀proper⠀methods⠀and⠀techniques⠀of⠀planting⠀ornamental⠀plants.
• Plans⠀and⠀ensures⠀the⠀contractor⠀changes⠀seasonal⠀plants on⠀time.
• Grows⠀potted⠀plants and⠀nursery⠀stock and⠀maintains⠀records on⠀the⠀growing⠀operation.
• Inventories,⠀maps, and⠀labels⠀trees and⠀shrubs in⠀hotel⠀landscape⠀areas for⠀instructional⠀and⠀maintenance⠀purposes.
• Make⠀sure the⠀ground and⠀the yard⠀are kept⠀clean all⠀the⠀time.
• Ensures⠀contractors⠀strictly⠀adherence⠀to safety⠀rules when⠀undertaking⠀repair and⠀maintenance⠀work.
• Supports⠀and⠀initiates⠀programs⠀for⠀improvement⠀of⠀procedures⠀and the⠀reduction⠀of⠀costs.
• Uses⠀training⠀and⠀development⠀resources⠀to improve⠀contractors’⠀skills and⠀abilities.
• Performs⠀related⠀duties and⠀special⠀projects⠀as⠀assigned.
• The⠀supply of⠀necessary⠀material⠀is⠀available⠀timely to⠀carry out⠀the⠀assignments.
• Appearance⠀and⠀housekeeping⠀of various⠀workshops⠀and other⠀work⠀areas.

Requirements:

• Associate or BSc degree in horticulture, botany, biology or another relevant subject will be an advantage.
• Previous experience in five-star hotel industries, hospitality in the same position.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to share both technical and non-technical information
