Nintendo Software Technology Corporation, based in Redmond, WA, is seeking an Art Director to join their team. As a subsidiary of Nintendo Co., Ltd., the studio is committed to creating high-quality video games and improving their processes to deliver exceptional experiences.

Role Overview:

As Art Director, you will collaborate with the Art Department Manager and studio leaders to shape the artistic vision for the studio’s projects. You’ll oversee the creation of concept art, design stylized environments and characters, and ensure the highest quality of artwork across products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and drive the artistic vision for studio products.
  • Create and oversee artistic concepts and designs.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance protocols for artwork.
  • Review and approve the work of artists.
  • Collaborate with other art department leaders and provide input on art production tools and pipelines.
  • Mentor junior staff and manage direct reports within the Art Department.
  • Facilitate communication with Nintendo’s Art team to ensure alignment.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of digital art experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Proven experience as an Art Director with at least 2 shipped games.
  • Strong skills in both 3D and 2D art production, with proficiency in software like Photoshop, Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, etc.
  • Experience with game development pipelines and engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity).
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong portfolio demonstrating your expertise.
  • Undergraduate degree in art or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $149,661 - $224,491 annually.
  • Semi-annual discretionary performance bonus.

  • Hybrid position requiring regular onsite work in Redmond, WA.
