Fast Retailing is seeking an Area HR Manager who will report to the Director of Human Resources and act as a strategic partner to store management. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with HR policies, providing guidance and counsel, and overseeing various aspects of HR administration. The Area HR Manager will work closely with local leaders to address HR needs and contribute to the organization’s effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Strategy Partnership: Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources to optimize HR metrics and create action plans that enhance business performance.
- Talent Development: Foster the professional growth of HR coordinators and managers, conducting regular performance reviews to monitor their progress.
- Recruitment & Promotion: Ensure the effective execution of external recruiting efforts, hiring processes, and internal management candidate promotions.
- Succession Planning: Partner with Store Management and Area Management teams to develop and maintain a succession plan at all levels.
- Employee Relations: Provide guidance to management and employees on resolving work-related issues while balancing employee needs with organizational goals.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Strategic Advising: Serve as an adviser to the operational management team, identifying communication gaps and process improvements.
- Training Initiatives: Lead corporate initiatives aimed at enhancing the associate experience, addressing turnover solutions, and assessing training needs.
- Manager Training: Train managers on policy matters, including equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment.
- HR Administration: Oversee various aspects of HR administration, including payroll, benefits, records retention, and employee relations.
- Conflict Management: Address employee grievances and conflicts, conducting investigations and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Support the implementation of health and safety protocols within the workplace.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel to various stores within the region.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experience: 4+ years of multi-unit HR experience, particularly in complex markets (e.g., multi-state, high volume employee relations).
- Retail Environment: High-volume, multi-location retail experience is mandatory.
- Market Opening Expertise: Knowledge of staffing, government regulations, and HR operations related to opening new markets.
- Employment Law Knowledge: General understanding of federal and state employment laws and practices.
- Confidentiality: Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Recruitment Proficiency: Experience in full-cycle recruiting and familiarity with applicant tracking systems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills.
- Dependability: Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality.
Salary and Equal Opportunity Statement
- Salary Range: $95,000 - $106,000* (final offer based on experience, education, certifications, skills, and location).
