ICE Futures U.S., Inc., a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc., offers a unique opportunity for an Analyst to join its Market Regulation team. As a U.S. derivatives exchange regulated by the CFTC, ICE Futures U.S. plays a vital role in enforcing market rules across energy, agricultural, and financial futures and options. The Market Regulation team is dedicated to ensuring compliance with Exchange rules and CFTC regulations by investigating market activities and providing guidance to participants.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Knowledge and Analysis:
- Develop a deep understanding of the Exchange's rules and CFTC regulations.
- Stay updated on relevant Federal regulations, policies, and market developments.
- Monitor and analyze commodity markets, focusing on energy, financial, and agricultural sectors.
Market Surveillance and Investigation:
- Review large, complex data sets to identify abnormal trading activity or potential violations.
- Conduct investigations by gathering testimony, compiling records, and preparing detailed investigative reports for review by disciplinary committees.
- Analyze the relationship between cash commodity fundamentals and futures markets, particularly in energy and agricultural sectors.
Market Participant Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with market participants and provide guidance on Exchange rules and regulations.
- Communicate clearly with market participants, regulators, and senior management.
Process Improvement and Collaboration:
- Continuously seek improvements in operational processes to enhance efficiency.
- Work closely with technology and systems teams to develop tools that support market regulation activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Juris Doctorate.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to process and interpret large datasets.
- Familiarity with futures markets, commodities, and trading practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of exchange operations, trading, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.

- Work Schedule: The role offers flexibility to work from home one day per week.
- Salary Range: The expected base salary for this role in New York City is between $75,000 - $85,000, excluding potential incentive compensation. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate’s skills and experience.
