Roosevelt University is seeking a full-time Administrative Clerk to support the Office of Financial Aid. This non-exempt clerical position reports to the Director of Financial Aid and is based on the Chicago campus. The position is hybrid during specific times of the year, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The hybrid schedule begins in November and continues through December, with in-office requirements during January to March and May to July. In-office work is expected from August to October.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively
- Capacity to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong customer service skills, able to handle interactions with students and parents
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of college (60 credit hours)
- 1-2 years of professional office experience, preferably in an administrative or clerical capacity
- Ability to oversee clerical processes and ensure the accuracy of others' work
- Experience in managing processes or programs within an office
- Must have the ability to problem-solve, make decisions, and communicate plans effectively
- Proven ability to maintain office equipment and supplies
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Experience managing difficult or confrontational situations, especially with students and parents
- Familiarity with basic office equipment (e.g., desktop computer, copier, fax, phone)
Physical Requirements
- The position is largely sedentary, but requires moving around the office
- Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, or pushing up to 10 pounds
- Regular use of a desktop computer, requiring frequent hand/wrist movement
