This Accounts Receivable Assistant position at Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech) focuses on ensuring the accurate recording and analysis of accounts receivables and revenue. You'll play a critical role in handling financial data, reconciling discrepancies, and supporting the agency's financial management services.

Duties:

  • Ensure accurate recording of accounts receivable and revenue by reconciling and analyzing fiscal reports.
  • Identify discrepancies, correct them through adjusting journal entries, and upload them to the state financial reporting systems.
  • Create and analyze fiscal queries and reports to ensure proper recording and liquidation of accounts.
  • Review and interpret financial records for receivables and revenue accounts.
  • Maintain federal contracts for billing compliance and assist in generating A-19 billings for other agencies.
  • Support financial year-end close, and provide updated financial reports on aging receivables.
  • Assist in developing fiscal procedures and summary reports, and handle journal entries in the Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS).

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Four years of professional experience in accounts payable/receivable or related accounting roles.
    • Intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF/SUMIF functions, Charts).
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in state governmental accounting, applying GAAP, or handling general ledger/revenue management.
    • Familiarity with state accounting rules (SAAM) and financial reporting systems like Enterprise Reports (ER).
    • Proficient use of a 10-key calculator by touch.

Telework:

  • Telework is permitted, with an onsite requirement of twice per week at WaTech's headquarters in Olympia, Washington.
