The Finance Coordinator is an essential member of the accounting team, providing crucial support in various financial operations. This role focuses on efficiently processing invoices, managing accounts payable, and ensuring accurate and timely financial documentation. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining an organized payables list and assisting with various accounting tasks to ensure smooth financial operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of financial documents, including invoices, bills, and statements.
- Generate invoices and ensure timely and accurate submission to clients or employees.
- Track and manage company expenses, including processing reimbursements and monitoring spending.
- Maintain up-to-date financial records by recording transactions, updating ledgers, and reconciling bank statements.
- Perform general administrative duties related to the finance department.
- Maintain an organized payables list, ensure checks are generated on time, and prepare monthly financial reports.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and maintain the accuracy of financial records.
- Process invoices and efficiently manage accounts payable duties.
- Oversee open payables, ensuring timely payments and preparation of detailed monthly reports.
- Provide on-site assistance during major events to ensure smooth execution before, during, and after the event.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy.
- Assist the Director of Accounting AGM with the preparation of financial statements and contribute to special projects as needed.
- Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.
Skills Required:
- Prior experience with D365 is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, D365, and other relevant tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial records and documentation.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve basic issues.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well as a team player, collaborating with the accounting department and other teams.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a technical college or university is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting is preferred.
- The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently. A strong commitment to maintaining accuracy in financial and organizational tasks is essential.
